What is Flood Irrigation?

Flood irrigation (also known as "surface irrigation") is an irrigation method used to flush standing water into a crop field. Because it must use an extraordinary amount of water, as well as pump pressure, flood irrigation is considered the least efficient and most wasteful method of irrigation available.

Through years of research, we have found that center pivots and linears are much more efficient to install, maintain, and operate than flood irrigation. Center pivots and linears will save you substantial costs and ensure your available, valuable water is being used efficiently. Because it requires so much water, flood irrigation is only 40% - 50% efficient, compared to the 98%, low-pressure efficiency of center pivot irrigation.
